What we build

Plugins, mods, tools.

If it runs on or around a Minecraft server, it's probably in scope. Below are the three buckets - if your idea doesn't fit cleanly, ask anyway.

Server plugins

Paper / Spigot / Bukkit

Custom commands, economy systems, anti-cheat layers, leaderboards, gameplay mechanics, integrations with Vault / LuckPerms / PlaceholderAPI, anything that runs on your server.

  • Combat & PvP
  • Economy & shops
  • Cosmetics
  • Anti-cheat
  • Custom minigames
  • Staff tools
Client & server mods

Fabric / Forge

Client-side mods (HUDs, minimaps, quality-of-life features) and server-side mods that go deeper than the plugin API allows. Targeting Minecraft 1.20+.

  • HUD overlays
  • Minimaps & waypoints
  • Quality of life
  • Server-side mods
  • Datapacks
  • Custom blocks/items
Tools & integrations

Bots, websites, dashboards

Discord bots tied to your server, admin dashboards, payment integrations, web-based shops, BlueMap/Dynmap integrations, or any glue code that connects your server to something else.

  • Discord bots
  • Admin dashboards
  • Web shops
  • Map integrations
  • Payment hooks
  • Webhooks & APIs
How it works

From idea to .jar in days.

01

Describe what you need

Fill out a short form: platform, Minecraft version, what the plugin should do, any references. The more specific, the faster we can quote.

02

Get a fixed quote

Within 24 hours you get a price and a timeline. Fixed - no hourly surprises. If something is out of scope, we say so up front.

03

We build, you review

Progress updates in the dashboard, iterations on the agreed spec included. You see drafts before final delivery.

04

You get the source + bug fixes

Final delivery is the compiled .jar, the full source code, and a config reference. Bug fixes on the delivered scope are included for 12 months. New Minecraft version compatibility is not - that's a separate update job, quoted when you need it.

Why GeneX

Why this is different.

01

One developer accountable

Not a marketplace, not an agency. Same person writes the code, answers your messages, ships the fix at 11pm when something breaks. No tickets routed to a stranger.

02

Production-grade, not a hobby project

Every build is benchmarked, written against the latest Paper API, version-locked, and stress-tested. The same standards we hold for catalog releases.

03

Source + bug fixes included

You get the full source code at delivery and 12 months of bug fixes on the delivered scope. New Minecraft version compatibility is a separate job - quoted when you actually need it, not bundled into the original price.

FAQ

Frequently asked.

How much does a custom Minecraft plugin cost?

It depends on scope. Most small plugins land between $25 and $100. Mid-sized projects with multiple commands, configs, and integrations typically run $100 to $250. Larger systems (full economy, custom minigame, anti-cheat layer) are quoted individually after a short scoping conversation. You always see a fixed quote before any work starts - no hourly surprises.

How long does it take to build a custom plugin?

Most small-to-medium plugins ship in 3 to 10 days from the moment the quote is approved. Larger systems take 2 to 4 weeks. You get progress updates and can request changes throughout - we're not a black box.

Which Minecraft platforms do you support?

Server plugins: Paper (preferred), Spigot, and Bukkit, targeting Minecraft 1.20 and newer. Client and server mods: Fabric and Forge. If you need something cross-platform or for an older version, ask - we'll tell you honestly whether it's a good fit.

Do I get the source code?

Yes. Every custom build ships with the full source code and a basic config reference. You own what you paid for - no DRM, no marketplace lock-in, no recurring licence fees.

Can you update or fix an existing plugin?

Yes - whether it's a plugin you bought elsewhere, an internal tool you inherited, or an old build that broke after a Minecraft update. Send the source (or the .jar if that's all you have) and a description of what needs to change.

What happens when a new Minecraft version comes out?

Bug fixes on the delivered scope are included for 12 months. Updating the plugin for a new Minecraft version is a separate job - quoted when you actually need it, not bundled into the original price. This keeps initial quotes lower and means you only pay for updates if and when you choose to move your server to a new version.

What if the result doesn't match what I asked for?

Iterations on the agreed scope are included until it matches what you asked for. New features or scope additions get quoted separately. The goal is for you to actually use what you commissioned - if it doesn't work the way the spec said it would, that's on us to fix.

Do I need an account to submit an order?

Yes - submitting the form creates a customer account so you can track the order, message us directly inside your dashboard, and get notified when the build is ready. Signup takes about 30 seconds.

Is this Mojang or Microsoft official?

No. GeneX is an independent developer, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Mojang Studios or Microsoft Corporation. "Minecraft" is a trademark of Mojang Studios.
